Andreja Peklar: Me, you, she, he - Artist's Book
In the Miha Maleš Gallery you can look at the artist’s book of Andreja Peklar, which is a collection of her authorial graphics, drawings, collages, combined in a poetic narrative in the form of a book – an object. As an illustrator, the author is more or less obliged to the literature. Through the artist’s book, she moved away from literature as a “predecessor” to the artwork – illustration and proceeded in parallel, or turned it around.
The book carries the title “Me, you, she, he” and touches upon the fundamental existential issues of living and interpersonal relations. It is designed as a kind of album “photographs” from the life of the author, me, you, she, he … The book is tied in an unusual way, the leaves are clustered from two sides, from the left and to the right – if we are leafing them continuously, alternately, the scenes of the author’s narrative are opening up to us. Alternatively, the viewer – the reader can view the sheet in a new order, random, create his own combinations, and thus create a new story.
