HERITAGE OF THE FIGHTERS FOR THE NORTHERN BORDER IN THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SLOVENIA
The lecturer will present various commemorative items dedicated to the fighters for the northern border, preserved by the National Museum of Slovenia. For example, in 1968, on the 50th anniversary of the battles for the northern border, the Maribor veterans’ association Association of Volunteers – Fighters for the Northern Border in the Years 1918–1919 commissioned, for the first time since World War II, a commemorative medal featuring a portrait of General Rudolf Maister (1874–1934), and in 1975, a commemorative plaque.

International Geocachers’ Meeting
KAMNIK BLOCK PARTY 2025
The SLO Caching Club is organizing an international meeting of geocachers at Zaprice Castle. On Saturday, 20 September 2025, you are invited to Kamnik, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Slovenia and a geocaching hotspot, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game. From cache to cache, you will discover Kamnik’s rich historical, cultural, and natural heritage, and meet new and old geocaching friends at every turn. The Saturday Block Party event at Zaprice Castle offers a great opportunity for socializing.

Final Public Tour of the Exhibitions
HAPPILY TO KAMNIK and FELICITA KALINŠEK
The tours will be led by the exhibition authors Marko Kumer and Irina Mitov.
At the end of September 2025, we will close the popular and very engaging exhibition HAPPILY TO KAMNIK, which portrays life in Kamnik during the 1960s. You are invited to the final public tour with Marko Kumer. Following this, Irina Mitov will guide visitors through the new temporary exhibition about the Slovenian cook Felicita KALINŠEK.

KNOWN AND UNKNOWN PHOTOGRAPHS OF KAMNIK AND ITS SURROUNDINGS FROM THE LAST THIRD OF THE 19th CENTURY

The lecturer will present a selection of photographs of Kamnik and its surroundings from the last third of the 19th century, most of which are unknown to the general public. Among them are images by photographers Johann Baptist Reiner from Klagenfurt, Ernest Pogorelc from Ljubljana, Müller, and Bled-based photographer Benedikt Lergetporer. Reiner’s photograph of Kamnik, which has not been preserved, dates to 1869; Pogorelc’s and Müller’s to 1883 or earlier; and most of Lergetporer’s to 1887.
