In the Footsteps of Vlasta Kopač – A Walk through Velika Planina

In the Year of Vlasto Kopač, we are organizing another guided tour of Velika Planina and the heritage and legacy of Vlasta Kopač.

On Sunday, 30 August 2026, from 12 noon onwards, join conservator Saša Roškar from the Kranj Regional Unit of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia (ZVKDS). She will guide you through one of Kopač’s most significant projects – Velika Planina. We will visit the herders’ settlement, the Preskar Museum, and the Ruševka cottage, which Kopač built for himself.

You are also warmly invited to take part in the other events held as part of Domžale Mountaineers’ Day. The programme begins at 7 a.m.

At 10 a.m., you can watch an MMK documentary at the Domžalski dom mountain hut, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the life and work of the exceptional humanist Vlasto Kopač.
