Ensuring the widest access to cultural heritage is one of the fundamental objectives of national and European cultural policy. In the field of the implementation of museum programs, in the last few years, it has been carefully planned to open new possibilities for acquiring new knowledge about objects and contents in the field of movable cultural heritage with the goal of lifelong education and the integration of vulnerable social groups into public life.

In the Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik, the situation was greatly improved in 2018. We have prepared new web pages that are accessible to all visitors and are also sound supported.

Permanent exhibitions in the Gallery Miha Maleš, Rudolf Maister’s birth house and the museum – the Zaprice Castle can be seen from now on with the help of audio guides in Slovene and English language. The latter also help visually impaired people. In all three units, we also have induction loops that allow for better transmission of sound to the hearing aid. A pleasant voice from an audio device tells us stories about the history of objects, exhibitions, personalities, objects. The first testers are enthusiastic!

At the same time, we also facilitated physical access to the ground floor of the museum in the castle of Zaprice, which, due to its monumental historical character, has its special features.

Typical items are also available, copies of selected museum objects that allow visitors to identify objects and describe them.

Welcome!
