Guided Tour of Velika Planina – Exploring the Heritage of Vlasta Kopač – CANCELLED

In 2026, we mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Vlasta Kopač (1913–2006) – an architect, conservator, mountaineer, and a man who knew and understood Velika Planina exceptionally well and whose work had a profound influence on the area.

When designing the holiday settlement, he drew inspiration from the traditional herders’ huts and advocated for thoughtful development that respects the landscape, pastoral heritage, and the character of the area. His vision for Velika Planina remains relevant in many ways even today.

On Saturday, 22 August 2026, join us for a guided hike where we will discover his legacy in the place where it can best be experienced – on Velika Planina itself. Along the way, we will also learn about the area’s natural features, pastoral heritage, and stories.

Meeting point: 8:45 a.m. at the lower cable car station

Cable car departure to the mountain: 9:00 a.m.

Guided tour fee: €10 per person

Minimum number of participants: 15
