Public Guided Tour of the Exhibition
Notranjska – Maister’s Second, Yet True Home
The final public guided tour of the exhibition Notranjska – Maister’s Second, Yet True Home reveals the close connection between Rudolf Maister and the Inner Carniola region.
Already in Rudolf’s childhood, the Maister family often visited their relatives, the Sebenikar family. His mother’s sister Matilda and her husband Lovrenc first settled in Rakek and later in Unec. After the death of Rudolf’s father in 1887, Lovrenc became the guardian of his nephews, Ernest and Rudolf. Even after his retirement in 1923, Rudolf Maister often spent his summers on the Sebenikar estate in Unec. It was also in Unec that Rudolf Maister passed away in 1934.
The tour will be led by the exhibition’s co-author, Alenka Juvan.
