ŽIGA KORENT – Parallel Stories
Žiga Korent graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana, specialising in textile and clothing design (under Marija Jenko). He continued his studies at the University of Vienna in cognitive science, where he focused primarily on design theory. He obtained his MA in Painting at the School of Drawing and Painting in Ljubljana under Professor Mladen Jernejc.
In his works he describes a world in which there is no single story – there are many. Even if they may seem uncoordinated, none is right or wrong; they simply coexist.
The curator of the exhibition is Saša Bučan.

Maister Evening
Dr. Breda Kolar Sluga: Maister’s Role in the Organisation of Artistic Life in Maribor
Organised in cooperation with the General Maister Kamnik Society.
At the end of the turbulent year 1920, Maribor hosted the “first art exhibition”. The initiative was put forward by painter Viktor Cotič, while General Rudolf Maister served as the honorary patron. In a city that was experiencing major ethnic and social changes following the collapse of Austria-Hungary and the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, this was an extraordinary endeavour. Its aim was to present the cultural image of what had become a Slovenian city, to connect and organise artists of all nationalities, backgrounds and professions, and to awaken public interest in the visual arts.
