SO CLOSE SO FAR

on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM.

Curated by Saša Bučan.

This group project brings together four contemporary visual artists who live and work in the town of Kamnik and exhibit both in Slovenia and internationally, in solo and group shows. The works, created in dialogue with curator Saša Bučan’s reflections, showcase the practices of graphic artist Oliver Pilić, painter and restorer Matevž Sterle, printmaker and sculptor Nina Koželj, and artist, writer, and curator Louise Winter, with the latter two presenting spatial installations.

The artists delve into the times they live and create in, exploring personal introspection and the impulses that drive their creative process—their ability to perceive and interpret the world around them. The exhibition examines the tension between urban decay and natural forms, as well as the cyclical nature of growth and decay. This contrast—between dynamic chaos and the meditative state of creation—becomes both an inspiration and a journey into their own inner worlds.

The opening will be accompanied by a performance from trumpeter, producer, and composer of the younger generation, Gašper Selko.

You are warmly invited.
