By our school programme teachers and students learn about and explore history, art, Slovene celebrities, technics, nature and society. We are sure that in our Museum there are reach collections and even more interesting and unique exhibitions, which support and interact with classroom teaching of individual subjects.
Here you can find useful information, helping you to decide easily to visit our Museum. The educational programme supports the national curriculum for primary schools and makes classroom different. Students are active and therefore more motivated, while teachers learn about different forms of education and how to implement them in their teaching process.
GUIDED TOURS through permanent and temporary exhibitions for various ages and interests; at the baroque-style fortress visitors learn about the peculiarities of Kamnik, the contribution of trading roads to formation and prosperity of the town, the way of life of the wealthiest citizens in the past, the unique exhibition of bentwood furniture in Slovenia, the unique presentation of folk architecture – the granaries.
First triade (1 – 3 grade):
Adapted guided tours explain local history, art, way of life, Kamnik and Slovene famous natives (painters, writers, architects, craftsmen…).
Second triade (4 – 6 grade):
Adapted guided tours explain local history, art, everyday life, museum work, visitors learn about various history resources and about the meaning of cultural heritage.
Third triade (7 – 9 grade):
Adapted guided tours through the Museum exhibitions support the teaching curriculum – life in the Roman state, foundation of medieval towns and living there, Reformation in Slovenia, economic development in Kamnik from the 16th to 18th century, absolutism and reforms, economy and life in towns in the 19th century, World War I and frontier battles...
